About Us
Kay and Denard married while in college in 1963. After nearly a decade as students they reluctantly “had -to-go-to-work”. In 1969, they started a 30 year run in South Carolina with Kay in the medical field and Denard in the business field. A 1999 return to Carteret County finds them in a 22 year run in the Marina business at Portside Marina. With an eye for preserving historical places, Kay and Denard purchased 1100 Arendell in 2020 and began a two year process of rehabilitating a 110-year-old home.” “She has Great Bones”, was a frequent rallying cry as we faced one challenge after another.
